Dream-Gamer switch adapted PlayStation Controller

Dream-Gamer is a switch adapted controller that enables children and young adults with physical disabilities to play games on the Sony PlayStation.

The Dream-Gamer mini-joystick enables individuals to use finger or thumb movements to control direction in the game - left, right, foward or backwards. The mini-joystick can be held in either hand or can be mounted in a support braket that can be velcroed to a flat surface.

The mini-joystick can be connected to any of the five sockets on the Action Box and allows the gamer to use the joystick as a push button switch at the same time as controlling direction. A connecting cable is included in the kit.

Other game requirements are controlled by pressing external switches connected to the four action buttons or through the on-board buttons. A fifth switch, connected to the "start" button enables the gamer to start or re-start the game.

Any standard switch with a 3.5 mm jack plug can be connected to the Dream-Gamer controller.

The Dream-Gamer Switch System includes two switch adapted extension boxes that connect to the PS2 controller. Directional control in a game, such as "left, right, up or down" is achieved by connecting switches to one of the extension boxes. Actions in the game are controlled by switches connected to second extension box.

Typically, a racing game would require four switches in total. Two used to control steering "left" and "right" and two "accelerating" and "bracking" the car.

Any standard switch with a 3.5 mm jack plug can be connected to the Dream-Gamer controller.
