Switch Adapted Toys

Meet the Crane Family and friends at the railway station. This switch adapted train set is fully compatible with all other leading brands of wooded track pieces and characters.

The wireless train controller uses one switch to make the train go and stop; making it suitable for children with single-switch skills. The first switch press drives the train forward until it is stopped by the next switch press (train works in latched switch mode).

Also supplied is a button controlled handset capable of starting, stopping and reversing the train as well turning the light on and off and making four railway noises.

Both controllers can be used at the same time opening up the possibility for, for example, a child and parent to play together.

My first remote control Thomas is an ideal switch adapted toy for young children. It is very simple for the child to control. All that's required is to connect two switches to the adapted controller.

Pressing one switch or button will make Thomas chug along in a straight line. Pressing the other switch or button makes him reverse in a circle - just let go when he's pointing in the right direction and drive him away again.

This is an excellent toy for young children learning switch skills. Thomas chugs along when the switch is pressed but stops when not. When he's resting he'll encourage the child to press again by "tooting and whistling". This toy will reward the child with multi-sensory feedback during play.

Thomas the Tank Engine is supplied with Thomas the engine and the adapted controller. Two switches and batteries will be required.

Our wireless switch adapted "Musical Bubble Thomas" blows bubbles as he chugs along playing his theme tune. The bubbles pop out of his funnel as he moves forward, in a circle, or straight line or as he stands still. He's also a push along toy as well.

This is an ideal toy for young children begining to learn switch skills and will offer lots of sensory rewards and stimulus during play. Operating the toy is very simple. Just connect any standard switch (3.5mm) to the wireless controller and, when the child presses it, Thomas will chug along and blow bubbles.

A switch adapted electronic train set for young children based on the Tolo First Friends series of toys. This train set is chunky, colourful and tough. Pressing the external switch, connected to the infra-red wireless control box, will make the train chug around the track while tooting its horn and flashing its light.

This adapted train set will help children to develop switch skills and an understanding of "cause and effect" as the train only runs whilst the switch is pressed (momentary switch mode)

The set includes a switch adapted engine and infra-red switch controller, driver, passenger, carriage and sufficient track to make an oval circuit. Three trees to provide extra interest. (Add-on track packs, buildings and animals can be purchased separately.)

The tractor operates in "timed" mode for around 10 seconds when turned on rewarding the child with lots of sensory stimulation. The tractor can be started by using the wireless controller or by pressing the driver down onto the seat. When set-going the child will be rewarded by hearing and seeing:

- Engine noises on start-up
- Honking horn
- Flashing head lights and brake lights
- Movement as the tractor drives for 3 metres before stopping

The tractor set comprises of farm tractor, trailer, driver and cow as well as the wireless controller and all the batteries (5 x AA type) needed to start playing as soon as it is taken out of the box.

Children love bubbles. This switch adapted bubble machine makes them by the thousand. Simply connect and press any standard switch (3.5mm) to the short adaption lead to produce lots and lots of bubble fun.

This bubble machine has two switch modes:

Latched mode: when switched on it will stay on until it is switch off - excellent for continuous bubble making.
Momentary mode: when the external switch is pressed the bubble machine operates but only as long as the switch remains pressed - excellent for cause and effect training.

Colours available: pink (as shown) and blue.

Supplied with a large bottle of Bubble Mix. Requires four "C" type batteries. Please note a switch is not supplied.
